Dear Parents and Guardians:

The federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 allows parents of students who attend Title I funded schools to request certification information about the qualifications of the teachers and paraprofessionals assigned to their child.  Under the law, you may contact this school and request information regarding which subjects your child’s teachers and paraprofessionals are certified to teach.  To be certified in the state of New York, teachers have to pass a series of examinations, hold a Bachelor’s Degree and have completed a concentration of college credits in the certification subject area of their assignment.  Currently this school does not employ any paraprofessionals.

In the event your child has been taught for four or more weeks by a teacher who is not highly qualified, we will notify you directly, and in a timely manner.

If you wish to request this information, please contact our Parent Coordinator at 518-694-8200 for the appropriate form.

Sincerely,

Karen Mclean, Principal
